This is a documentary story about the extraordinary twists of fate of Jan Czochralski, an outstanding Polish chemist and metallurgist, today called the “grandfather of global electronics”. His discoveries gave rise to everything that currently uses silicon single crystals. The problem is that in his home country, almost no one has heard of him. Why?

“Jan Czochralski. The Forefather of Electronics”
The film presents the figure of a brilliant scientist, but also a great Polish patriot – the chemist and metallurgist Jan Czochralski. His research and scientific work from the early 20th century laid the foundations for the modern electronics and photovoltaic industry based on monocrystalline semiconductors, which are produced using the method known worldwide in scientific circles as the Czochralski method.
